Amalga Limited were pleased to welcome Karla Lowin to our team recently as our newest Assistant Project Manager!
Karla is a keen student currently undertaking her A Levels at a local college but has her sights set on undertaking a degree in Business Studies and Project Management.
We were delighted to offer Karla a chance to join the team for 2 weeks to gain practical experience in the day to day pressures of the role.
Day 1 started with Karla meeting the team, being assigned her PPE and undertaking essential airport and construction related training to ensure she was fully prepped for the task ahead!
Once she was fully debriefed, Karla was assigned to Amalga's Construction Project Manager, Kevin Kench, who oversees all of the companies Construction Logistics works at Gatwick Airport.
During her 2 weeks with the team, Karla was given the opportunity to observe live projects starting in the morning DAB’s meeting, sitting in on inductions, attending site, meeting customers and completing essential paperwork. Karla also assisted in producing quotations and contributing to the monthly Senior Management meeting held at Head Office.
We thoroughly enjoyed having Karla as an enthusiastic member of the team and helping her gain invaluable experience for her future career.
