Logistics Manager - Gatwick and Heathrow

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Take full responsibility for the section of Amalga under your control for minor projects
  • Create method statements and undertake risk assessments for minor projects
  • Comply with Company Health & Safety, environment, security and quality guidelines and policies at  all times
  • Ensure all activities are undertaken in accordance with these
  • Schedule the works in logical steps and budget time required to meet deadlines, with the operations team
  • Determine labour requirements and define activities schedules with operations team
  • Obtain all necessary permits and licenses
  • Direct and supervise workers
  • Procure supplies and materials
  • Prepare and submit progress/Project reports
  • Input into continual improvement programmes
  • Take actions to deal with the results of delays, bad weather, or site emergencies
  • Attend, contribute to and lead meetings.  Including:
    • Progress reviews
    • Planning meetings
    • Quality reviews
    • Internal Management and Process Reviews
  • Liaise with supervisors, customers, contractors, suppliers and others on procedures, problems and solutions
  • Investigate damage, accidents, or delays on site, to ensure that proper procedures are being carried out
  • Appraise performance of team members
  • Other tasks and duties as required
  • Undertake to continue personal development and identify the needs of the team.
  • Responsibility for a company vehicle

Qualifications, Experience, Skills, Knowledge, Behaviours

  • Experience of working in the construction/logistics industry in a management position
  • Experience of working within an airport environment
  • Focus on Health & Safety
  • Security Screening training
  • Excellent organisational skills, Communication and Interpersonal Skills
  • Ability to work to deadlines and under pressure
  • First Aid Certificate (four day)
  • CSCS Card
  • SMSTS
  • Ability to competently operate MS Office suite of software
  • Current and valid UK driving licence
  • Airside driving – London Gatwick, Heathrow, Stansted
  • Focus on satisfying customer requirements and delivering a quality product and service
  • Reliable and punctual, with a professional attitude and approach to work
  • Desire for self development and progression within the Company

Referencing
