Amalga’s Total Airside Project Support (TAPS) services offer comprehensive solutions to onsite challenges.

Project

Amalga provides logistics and site support solutions to the aviation construction market. This encompasses a whole raft of measures, such as bespoke airside deliveries and collections, with guaranteed delivery times that are 100 per cent accurate.

Ensuring such timely arrival of materials and staff was just one element of Amalga’s service provision as part of its recent Terminal 3 World Duty Free refurbishment project.

Another vital concern was waste management. Increasingly crucial from both a legislative and CSR perspective, Amalga’s experience in this area covers provision of unique, detailed waste management plans, reporting of waste figures and statistics plus supply of 660 litre waste bins.

We also supply in 40 yard roll on off containers, and take care of COSHH containers and removal and disposal of hazardous substances,” explains Chris Hope, General Manager, Amalga Limited

“We provide specific waste handling teams. That’s not all. We look after BAA Retail Inductions and permits to work and we ensure that all Amalga operatives working on the project are compliant with CSCS cards,”

This attention to detail has helped Amalga maintain its market leading position. Regardless of their experience, Amalga customers are always fully briefed by the Amalga team prior to gaining access to the work location, on the do’s and don’ts of working within the airport’s restricted zone. It’s a simple, but often overlooked step and one that can massively reduce lost time and minimise risk.

“We also review customers’ RAMS prior to submittal, prepare RAMS on behalf of our customers and liaise with HAL and WDF on behalf of our customers,” elaborates Hope.

“Together with arranging for the issue of one to five day BAA passes and personnel escorting to and from the project, supported by our 24/7 Amalga Customer Care Line, we really do our utmost to create the most streamlined and efficient processes possible,”

Amalga can also offer free parking at its Heathrow Facility to all of its customers plus discounted hotels within a mile of the airport, including a pick up and drop off service and a meet and greet from flights. Seemingly simple steps like these really deliver useful time savings and make hitting project deadlines far more likely and hassle free.

"Amalga worked tirelessly, doing their utmost to support us throughout the project timeframe,” comments Tony Gerry, at World Duty Free. “I wouldn’t hesitate to contact them again when we next require an overarching, reliable logistics provider.”

Amalga has existing Construction Logistics Projects at both Gatwick and Heathrow running on well into the future. Over the past three months there has been an increase in the number of construction logistics opportunities and this seems to be growing, so providing we maintain competitive pricing allied to high levels of service we will no doubt secure our fair share.

Our market share of the shop fitting support services has grown month on month, and should continue to grow given the direction, delivered by our dedicated team. We also provide support services to media companies operating at Gatwick and Heathrow Airports and can see significant long term potential with in this market sector.
